It’s not about loving when you get there.
It’s so easy to ignore people, isn’t it? It’s so easy to blow by others as we’re seeking God’s will.
I wonder what church I’ll be serving in after I get married?
What about loving in the church you’re in right now?
I can’t wait to be a mom!
But aren’t you already a daughter, or sister, or wife?
I can’t wait to grow up and graduate so I can get into ministry!
Do you have any idea how much opportunity is out there for teenagers?!
I can’t wait until God uses my blog to reach thousands of people online!
What about the people you pass by physically every week at the grocery store?
How do you know you will ever get there?
What if God’s will for you is to die next week, or month, or year? Christians die every day too, you know.
How can you reach thousands if you aren’t even reaching ten today?
It’s about loving here. Love in the Moment.
Who can you love today? What is your today? Maybe your today is a teen, and your love for today is your parents, your brother or sister, and that kid who sits alone on the bus. Maybe your today is a wife, and your love is your husband and that outreach ministry at your church. Maybe your today is a mom or dad, and your love is your kids and your coworkers, and the stranger at the grocery store or the neighbor checking their mail.
Love here, and you will get to there.
You want to still be in God’s will in 10 years? You want to be a mother or father whose children admire and respect you? You want to have done something great for God with your life? Love now, and that will happen.
